CDC’s Updated Respiratory Virus Guidance 3-1-24

Updated CDC Guidance – Preventing Respiratory Viruses

Summary of updated guidance:

  • The updated guidance states if you are ill you should stay home and away from others. Rather than a 5 day isolation, people can go back to normal activities when symptoms have improved and they are fever free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.
  • When you go back to your normal activities, take added precautions over the next 5 days. These added precautions might include testing when you will be around others indoors, washing your hands regularly, physical distance, wearing a mask, and taking steps for cleaner air.
  • The guidance to stay home if you are sick remains the same.
This form is used to report a POSITIVE UNPROCTORED at home COVID-19 test. An unproctored COVID-19 test means that you did not use the app or telehealth visit associated with the at home COVID-19 test kit used.
