Position:  The Medina County Health Department, a nationally accredited health department, is accepting applications for a 12-Week Paid Internship as an ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH MOSQUITO CONTROL PROGRAM INTERN.

Applicants must be a full-time college student with a minimum GPA of 2.5, majoring in a program of study, i.e. Biology, Environmental Health, Public Health, etc., possess the ability to acquire a working knowledge of applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for administration, surveillance, and chemical application in the mosquito control program, have knowledge about physical, biological, and/or environmental health sciences (e.g. microbiology, chemistry, entomology); have a valid Ohio driver’s license with a safe driving history, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation. Current Ohio Department of Agriculture Pesticide Commercial Applicator License is preferred.

Position:  Medical Assistant – Wadsworth/Medina

Employment Status:  Non-Exempt, Full time (40 hrs/wk)

Wage:  Hourly, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

General Qualifications (including but not limited to):

High School Diploma or GED.  Completion of an accredited certified medical assistant program required.  Experience in a medical office setting recommended, but not required.

Licenses:  Current CPR Certification.  Certified as a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy Technician.

Position:  Licensed Independent Social Worker

Employment Status:  Non-Exempt, Full time (40 hrs/wk)

Wage:  Hourly, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

 General Qualifications (including but not limited to):

Master’s Degree in Social Work required. Licensed by the State of Ohio as a Licensed Independent Social Worker. Outstanding oral and written communications and public speaking skills required. Excellent computer skills with the ability to quickly adapt and become proficient using multiple software and cloud applications required. Community-based case management and training experience preferred. Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center of similar setting preferred. Spanish speaking a plus. Certified Application Counselor preferred or achieve certification within 30 days of training.
